Catherine Rowles

Catherine Rowles, 75, of Meadville, died Sunday, February 2, 2003 at Beverly Health Care Meadville, following a brief illness.

She was born in Meadville, January 20, 1928, a daughter of Frank and Ruth Carman Ketcham.  She married Dallas F. Rowles who preceded her in death in 1989.

She worked as a legal secretary in the office of F. Joseph Thomas and R. Charles Thomas for many years and also worked at the Crawford County Domestic Relations office.  In her retirement she also worked at Rite Aid.

She was a graduate of Meadville High School and was a member of First Christian Church and the former Meadville Sunrise Kiwanis Club.  She enjoyed traveling, collecting light houses and dolls.

Survivors, include three daughters, Diane Holland and her husband Bruce of Bluffton, IN, Karen Sparrow and her husband Jeff of Lima, OH and Suzanne Durovey and her husband Joe of Lititz, PA; a son, Tom Rowles and his wife Cyndie of Titusville; two brothers, Charles Ketcham of Meadville and Lester Ketcham and his wife Arlene of Meadville and eight grandchildren, Kevin Rowles, Jennifer Zonneveld, Jonathan Holland, Amy & Robbie Oldham, Joey, Adam & Michael Durovey.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Jane Rowles, a sister, Florence McNamara and two brothers, Willard and Francis Ketcham.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will follow Friday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Terry Clark, Pastor of First Christian Church and Rev. Bruce Holland, Son-in-law, officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Blair Cemetery, Woodcock Twp.

The family suggests memorials be made to the First Christian Church, 503 N. Main St., Meadville, PA 16335.
