Catherine W. Gibbons

Catherine W. Gibbons, 86, formerly of Seneca Rd., Meadville and a current resident of the Crawford County Care Center, died there Thursday, October 21, 2010 following a period of declining health.

She was born August 18, 1924 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of John and Dora Lang Wolfe.  She married Kenneth C. Gibbons August 23, 1958.

Catherine was a 1943 graduate of Cochranton High School.  She was employed as a customer service representative for the former First National Bank of Pennsylvania for 40 years and had previously worked for the Meadville Telephone Company.

Catherine was a member of the Meadville Alliance Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her loving husband Kenneth of Saegertown; two sisters-in-law, Norma Hamilton and her husband Richard and Dorothy Gibbons, all of Franklin; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where the funeral and committal service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Conley, Pastor of Meadville Alliance Church officiating.

Interment will be in Lupher Cemetery, Canal Township, Venango County.
