Cecelia M. Tkach

Cecelia M. Tkach, 86, of 26839 Plank Road, Guys Mills, has gone to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 after an extended illness.  She was at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Meadville, May 22, 1921 a daughter of the late Frank and Sophie Gawrys Maziarz.  She married John Tkach, Jr. July 11, 1941 and he preceded her in death September 14, 1989.

She was a graduate of Meadville High School and worked in her early years at Meadville Malleable and then worked for over 20 years at the Crawford County Nursing Home, retiring in 1986.  She was loved by many of the residents at the home where she was known as Sally and enjoyed spoiling them under her care.  She attended First Assembly of God Church and enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and most of all taking care of her family.  She cared for many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: a daughter, Patricia Mattocks and her husband Richard of Guys Mills; a son, Richard J. Tkach and his wife Jane of Guys Mills; six grandchildren, Debbie Alexander and her husband David of Conneaut Lake, Stephanie Alexander and her husband Doug of Guys Mills, Richard (Jake) Mattocks, Jr. and his wife Stacey of Union City, Michael Mattocks and his wife Kelly of Guys Mills, Eric Mattocks of Guys Mills and Laura Beebe and her husband Paul of Guys Mills; thirteen great-grandchildren, Nicole, David, Megan, Zack, Jessica, Zachary, Jacob, Austin, Marissa, Summer, Noah, Sophie and Ella; two brothers, Stephen Maziarz and his wife Marjorie of Saegertown and Chester Maziarz and his wife Katherine of Meadville; a sister, Frances Pasikoski of Meadville; several nieces and nephews and a good friend, Freda Hoover of Cambridge Springs.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Eiseman and Genevieve Rose, and one brother, Edward Maziarz.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Philip Torre, Pastor of First Assembly of God Church officiating.

Interment will be in St. Hippolyte Cemetery, Frenchtown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 448 Pine Street or Visiting Nurses Association, 747 Terrace Street, both of Meadville, PA 16335.
