Cecil Lee Stevenson

Cecil Lee Stevenson, 85, of Atlantic, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at UPMC Hamot following a brief illness.

He was born September 26, 1933 in Midland, MD, a son of Cecil Melvin and Mildred L. Sheeders Stevenson.  He married Joyce Jacklett June 16, 1956 and she survives.

Cecil was a 1952 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School.  He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.  He was employed at Drafto Corporation for 25 years, retiring in 1982.  He was a Greenwood Township Supervisor for 36 years.  He was also owner and operator of Stevenson Enterprises doing machine work for many people.  He often said he mended everything but broken hearts.

A member of High Street Community Church, Cecil enjoyed gardening, woodworking, bowling and was a good cook.  He was a member of the Western PA Bowling Hall of Fame and had served as an officer of the PA Bowling Assn.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Joyce, include five children, Jody Sperry (John) of Slippery Rock, Cecilia Walsh of Greenville, Douglas Stevenson (Esther) of Atlantic, Alicia Freeman (Mark) of Luthersburg, and Rebecca Burr of Ravenna, OH; thirteen grandchildren; 21 2/3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Jean Arbogast of Meadville; a brother, Edward Stevenson (Sandy) of Meadville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sherrie Maroney.

Calling hours will be Thursday, November 29th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE and Friday, November 30th from 9-11 a.m. at High Street Community Church, 9517 U.S. Hwy 322, Conneaut Lake.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ryan Austie officiating.

A private family graveside committal service will immediately follow at Lakeview Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 2006.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to High Street Community Church, 9517 U.S. Hwy 322 or the Conneaut Lake Area Historical Society, P.O. Box 425, both of Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
