Cecile E. Leavy

Cecile E. Leavy, 79, of Carlton, died Saturday, December 9, 1989 at Meadville Medical Center following an illness of several months.

Miss Leavy was born in Atlantic, May 31, 1910, a daughter of Oliver and Caroline DeArment Leavy.  She retired as chief operator for Bell Telephone Co. in Coudersport after 30 years of service, and in retirement worked for ten years as switchboard operator at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.  She was a member of Lake Lutheran Church, Conneaut Lake.  She was a member of Bell Telephone Pioneers.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Boyd (Ruth) Smith of Greenville and Mrs. Clark (Frances) Minnis of Meadville; four nieces and two nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greenfield Cemetery.
