Charles A. Kress

Charles A. Kress, 84, of Meadville, died Monday, February 10, 1986, at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mr. Kress was born in Meadville, February 22, 1901, a son of August and Margaret Kress Kress.  He married Irene Barrickman, June 20, 1928.  She survives.

He was retired from American Viscose Corp.  He previously worked for Westinghouse Corp.  Prior to that he was self-employed as a barber; had worked at Keystone Ordinance Works; and ten years with the Erie Railroad.  He was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church; Taylor Hose Co.; Meadville Elks Lodge 219 and Meadville Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar and Victor.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Agatha Cemetery.
