Charles A. Wright, Jr.

Charles A. Wright, Jr., 73, of Meadville, died Monday, January 6, 1997 at Meadville Health and Rehabilitation Center following a period of declining health.

He was born in Meadville, May 23, 1923, a son of the late Charles A. and Mary Chambers Wright, Sr.  He married Alice J. Martin December 20, 1946.  She survives.

He was a graduate of Meadville High School, Allegheny College and he was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corps.  He retired from the engineering department of Alltel as an engineer in 1985.  He also was an avid gardener.

Survivors in addition to his wife, include two sons, William Wright of Omaha, NE and Craig Wright of Meadville; a daughter, Karen Burns of Greenville; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Owens of Meadville, Mrs. Max (Florence) Dillaman of Meadville and Mrs. Joe (Ruth) Jankowski of Verde Vista, FL; a brother, Marvin Wright of Jefferson, OH and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Johnson and a brother, William Wright.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
