Charles C. Hunter

June 3, 1898 — November 7, 1984

Charles C. Hunter, 86, of Meadville, died Wednesday, November 7, 1984 at City Hospital following a sudden illness.

He was born at East Mead Township, June 3, 1898, a son of James and Lena (Knorr) Hunter.  He married the former Margaret Wolff on July 5, 1932.

He retired in 1963 from the former NW/PA Bank and Trust Co., now Mellon Bank North, after 43 years of service.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, graduate of Meadville Commercial College, recipient of pre-standard certificate from American Institute of Banking, member of Lodge 408 F&AM member and former treasurer of Meadville Kiwanis Club, former treasurer of Crawford County Unit of American Cancer Society, and past president of Meadville Clearing House Assn.

Survivors include his widow, Margaret of Meadville; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Patricia) McElhaney of Westerville, OH and Miss Jill Hunter of Toledo, OH; one son, Jack Hunter of Saegertown; one sister, Mrs. Theodore (Hazel) Smith of Meadville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
