Charles “Charlie” E. Drew, well known Stoneboro Barber known as “Chop Chop Charlie”, age 82 of Lake Twp, Jackson Center, passed away on July 23, 2024 at AHN Grove City. Charlie was born in Lake Twp on February 2, 1942 to the late Ralph and Ethel (Canon) Drew. He was a graduate of Fredonia-Delaware High School and went on to Barber School. Charlie operated his barber shop along with his brother “Razor Ralph” in Stoneboro for 65 years.
Charlie was a longtime member of the Emmanuel Christian Church where he had served as an elder. Also at the church he was a leader for the Boy Scouts and then Trail Life. He was a member of the Mercer County Antique Power Association and Lake Myrtle Lodge #316 F&AM in Sandy Lake.
Charlie married his beloved wife, Judith Ann (Leckemby) Drew on May 4, 1963. She survives at home. Also surviving are his sons: David (Cindy) Drew; Brian (Karen) Drew; and Gary (Robin) Drew, grandchildren: Brittany Drew; Shelby (Joshua) Leasure; Jake (Crystal) Drew; Lauren Drew; Cassandra (Drew) Aungst; Colin Drew; and Christopher Drew, great-grandchildren: Emilia Aungst; Kaleigh Aungst; and one more on the way, siblings: Arthur (Cheryl) Drew; Darlene Ebbert; Mary (Noel) Mitchell, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his brother Ralph (Linda Ryhal) Drew, brother-in-law: Jay Ebbert, and nephew: Owen Mitchell.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc – Stoneboro & Sandy Lake.
Visitation will take place at Emmanuel Christian Church, 4495 Greenville-Sandy Lake Rd, Stoneboro, from 4 pm – 8 pm on Thursday, July 25. A Masonic Service will take place at the beginning of visitation at 4 pm.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 26, at 11 am with the Pastor Tim Clark, church pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
