Charles Robert (Bob) Cross

October 5, 1926 — November 8, 1997

Charles Robert (Bob) Cross, 71, of Meadville, died Saturday, November 8, 1997 at Presbyterian Hospital University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

He was born October 5, 1926 in Meadville, a son of the late Rev. Charles C. and Katherine Sayers Cross.  He married Jane Lapuma June 2, 1968.  She survives.

Mr. Cross was a 1944 graduate of Sandy Lake High School and had attended Gannon University, Erie.  He was a US Navy veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theater of operations.  He worked for Crawford Central School District for 10 years retiring in 1988.  He previously owned and operated Bob Cross Feed Mill in Stoneboro.  He had also worked for Sears Roebuck and Company in Erie and Cleveland.  He was a member of VFW Post #2006 and Meadville Eagles Aerie 429.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, John C. Cross and James P. (Gus) Cross (Laurie), both of New Castle; four grandchildren, David C., Charles D., Amy K. and Katherine Cross; one brother, Curtis D. (Florence) Cross of Willoughby, OH; and also nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Mulidoro and Eva J. Roodhouse.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Brigid Cemetery.
