Charles D. Thellman

Charles D. Thellman, 80, of Hartstown, died at home Monday, July 20, 2009 following a short illness.

He was born November 21, 1928 in Canton, OH, a son of the late Fred and Anna Doerr Thellman.  He married Shirley Aumend January 31, 1950 and she preceded him in death August 8, 2002.

He worked for Harned Oil Company of Conneaut Lake and previously was self-employed in the furniture business in Canton, OH.

He enjoyed fishing, going to flee markets, and animals, especially horses and dogs.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Garnet and her husband Rocco of Conneaut Lake and Shirley Phelps and her husband Thomas of Meadville; a son, Robert Thellman and his companion Tammy of Fairmont, WV; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Thellman and a sister, Evelyn McDonald.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.  The funeral and committal service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Steve Anderson, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
