Charles Denver Beatty

Charles Denver Beatty, 93, of Meadville, died Wednesday, April 2, 1969, at City Hospital.

He was born in South Meadville on February 10, 1876, a son of John W. and Juline Olmstead Beatty.  He was first married to Anna Charlton who died in December of 1913.  He was married in December of 1932 to Jeannette Hood.

Mr. Beatty spent his lifetime farming and also had been tax collector and road supervisor of West Mead Township.  He also served as assistant county tax collector for a period of time.

He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.  He attended Allegheny College and taught in several county schools in his younger years.

Surviving, besides his widow, are a son, Robert J. Beatty of London, Ont., a stepdaughter, Mrs. Edwin D. (Virginia) Emmel of Hartstown; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. John (Lillian) McCooey of Meadville; six grandchildren; three nieces and four nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
