Charles E. 'Chuck' Smock

Charles E. “Chuck” Smock, 80, of Meadville died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 surrounded by his family at the Marquette Hospice House.

He was born November 29, 1936 in Meadville a son of H. Edward and Mildred Wood Smock.  He married Mary Jo Thompson November 1, 1978 and she survives.

He was a 1954 graduate of Meadville High School and served in the US Army from 1955-1958.  He worked with his father at Smock Plumbing, and took it over after his father retired.  He owned and operated it until his retirement on July 4, 1999.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge #234.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Mary Jo of 38 years, include: two daughters, Dr. Dorene Morris and her husband Dr. Paul Morris and Debra Smock; a son, John D. Smock; a sister, Marlene Miller and her husband Ed; a brother-in-law, Glen L. Thompson and his wife Carol; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are welcome to Chuck’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 1st from 2-5 p.m. at the Iroquois Club, 10733 Konneyaut Trail, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Crawford County (for the Marquette Hospice House), 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
