Charles E. Clark

Charles E. Clark, 83, of Meadville, died at home Thursday, April 1, 1999, following a lengthy illness.

He was born January 29, 1916, in Coudersport Township, Potter County, a son of George and Katy Clark.  He married Kathern Gable October 1, 1936 and she preceded him in death November 3, 1998.

He was self-employed for many years as a painter and previously had worked at Talon for 15 years.  He was a 1934 graduate of Chatham Vista High School, Little March, PA.  He was also an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and camping with his family.

Survivors include two sons, James Clark (Doris) and David Clark (Jane); four daughters, Shirley Oster (Fred), Betty Gibson (Allen), Evelyn Chamberlain and Sandra Laver; a brother, Lester Clark; 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Newark.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
