Charles E. West, Jr.

Charles E. West, Jr., 67, of Saegertown, died Monday, January 12, 2015 surrounded by his family at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

He was born in Pittsburgh May 31, 1947 a son of Charles E. West, Sr. and Agnes Sasio West Mayhugh.  He married Virginia Gallagher August 20, 1971 and she survives.

He served in the US Coast Guard and worked as a tool & die machinist first for National Tel-Tronics in Meadville for 27 years and then for General Electric in Grove City for 14 years.  He was a member of the First Church of God, Cambridge Springs and enjoyed golfing, going to auctions and coin shops.  In his younger years, he also enjoyed hunting.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Virginia of 43 years include: a son Charles West of Meadville; a sister, Sandy Jones and her husband Rick of Pittsburgh; three brothers, Jim West and his wife Joan of Pittsburgh, Danny West of Pittsburgh and Tommy West of Pittsburgh and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Sherman.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. James Callender, Pastor of First Church of God, Cambridge Springs, officiating.

Interment will be in Spring Cemetery, Springboro.
