Charles Edward Maynard

September 3, 1932 — December 24, 2006

Charles Edward Maynard, 74, of 12301 Hickory Drive, Conneaut Lake, died in Meadville, Saturday, December 24, 2006, after a period of failing health.

He was born in Salamanca, NY, September 3, 1932, a son of Donald and Gertrude

Callahan Maynard.  He married Catherine E. O’Day November 23, 1963, and she survives.

Charles was a graduate of Conneaut Lake High School and a veteran of the Korean Conflict with the U. S. Army.  He retired in 1992 from Mitchell’s Milk Hauling, Saegertown, and previously had worked for Corey Brothers, also hauling milk.

He was a member of Conneaut Lake American Legion Post #0587, and was proud to have served his country in the Korean Conflict.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Catherine of 43 years, include 2 sons, Anthony Maynard of Oakdale, and Mark Maynard and his wife Patricia of Meadville; 1 daughter Karen Roxberry of Meadville; 9 grandchildren, Logan, Nolan, Nathan, Emily, Hailey, and Devan Maynard, Patricia, Megan, and Charlotte Roxberry; 1 great granddaughter, Mackynzee Roxberry; 2 sisters, Irene Kiser and her husband Paul of Greenville, and Sally Kennerknecht and her husband Ray of Meadville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James and Daniel Maynard.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with military honors by Harm Jan Huidekoper VFW Post #2006.
