Charles Edward Scott, 86, who has resided at Conneaut Lake for the past 20 years and summered here since 1967, died Wednesday, February 3, 1999, at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Holt, October 5, 1912, a son of Carl C. and Beaulah Marie Weigle Scott. He married Virginia Bragg, July 28, 1937, in New Cumberland, WV. She survives.
He graduated from Monaca High School and attended Geneva College.
He was plant superintendent of AB Murray Co. at Versailles for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He previously was employed as a foreman with Pittsburgh Tube Co. in Monaca for 10 years.
After retirement, he worked at the Park Golf Course, Conneaut Lake Park and Conneaut Lake Navigation Co.
Scott was a life member of Monaca Turners and a former member of Pymatuning Sportsmans Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a loving father and grandfather.
Survivors, in addition to his wife for 61 years, include a daughter, Judith Scott Reimer of Mentor, OH; a son, Gary Edward Scott of Indiana; five grandchildren, Michael Kevin Scott, Paul Scott Reimer, Bethany Reimer La'Marco, Katherine Marie Reimer and James Edward Reimer; three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; two aunts; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Dale Scott and Gerald (Derb) Scott.
Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery.
