Charles Emerson Doty

Charles Emerson Doty, 47, of Meadville, died suddenly at Spencer Hospital, Wednesday, morning, April 3, 1963, after suffering a heart attack at his home.

Mr. Doty was born in Indiana, Indiana County, October 3, 1915, a son of Clair and Gail McAdoo Doty.  He moved to Meadville in 1938 and was a field agent for the Layne-New York Co., Inc., for 20 years.  He served in the US NAvy Construction Battalion (Seabees) in the Pacific area during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are his widow, the former Margaret Moore, whom he married May 28, 1938; his mother, in Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
