Charles H. Byham

September 16, 1918 — January 8, 2001

Charles H. Byham, 82, a former Aston resident, and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since November 1991, died there Monday, January 8, 2001.

He was born in Ardmore, September 16, 1918, a son of the late Harold S. and May Bentley Byham.  He married Katherine Braun May 8, 1954 and she preceded him in death in 1984.

He was a US Army veteran of World War II having served in the European Theatre of operations and faught in the Battle of the Bulge.   He was employed as an automobile mechanic from 1945 to 1952, after which he took up farming until retiring in 1979.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge #236 of Chester, PA, and a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, Guys Mills.

Survivors include one son, James E. Byham (Sue) of Landenburg; one sister, Dorothy Graham of N. Cape May, NJ; one brother, Richard Byham of Mt. Holly, NJ; and also nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston, Delaware County, PA.
