Charles H. Jones, 93 of Stoneboro, passed away on October 15, 2023 at UPMC Jameson. Charles was born in Stoneboro on January 17, 1930 to the late Robert Sr. and Cora (Frost) Jones. He was a graduate of Stoneboro High School and went on to proudly serve his Country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. During his time in the service he received the National Defense Service Ribbon. Charles worked for 60 years at Reznor-Mercer and subsequently for Thomas & Betts. He and his wife also owned and operated Jones Auto Reconditioning for several years.
Charles loved his work and loved restoring vehicles. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and taking trips to Canada to fish. He will be remembered as a selfless, caring man who was always willing to help another. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Charles was Christian by faith and attended Oak Grove Church and Stoneboro Community Church.
Charles was married to his beloved wife: Louise E. (Anderson) Jones. She preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Kimberley (Gary) Kasbee of Stoneboro; and Douglas Jones of Stoneboro, son-in-law Ron Dodson of Sandy Lake, grandchildren: Lyndsey Langley Baseler of Grove City; Ross Langley of Fairview, Erie Co.; and Bailey Kasbee of Stoneboro, great-grandchildren: Chloe Langley; Jake Baseler; Jackson Baseler; and Gaige Langley, and siblings: Martha Jones of NC; Ruth Miller of Greenville; and Dan Jones of Sandy Lake,
In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was preceded in death by his daughter: Peggy Dodson, and brothers: Robert Jones, Jr., and David Jones.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where visitation will be from 4 pm – 7 pm on Wednesday, October 18. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 19, at 11 am at the funeral home with an hour of visitation prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with full military honors rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
