Charles Homer Ingraham, 76, of Meadville, veteran pharmaceutical salesman, died Friday at City Hospital where he was admitted Monday following a heart attack.
Ingraham, who covered Western PA and Eastern OH in a horse and buggy when he began his career in 1898, retired last January.
Born December 23, 1877 at Cobleskill, NY, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eli Ingraham, he spent most of his early life at Guys Mills. He began his career of selling pharmaceutical supplies to physicians, or drug stores through physicians, soon after graduating from Blooming Valley High School.
He was a member of Park Avenue Congregational Church and was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of F and AM Lodge 408, Solomon Royal Arch Chapter 191, NW Commandery, Knights of Templar, Zem Zem Shrine of Erie and Pittsburgh Consistory.
Surviving are his widow, Mabel Thrall Ingraham; a daughter, Mrs. P. Richard Thomas of Meadville; two grandchildren, Sally Jo and Carol Lee Thomas of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Charles Hotchkiss of Union City and two brothers, Dale Ingraham of Erie and Harrison Ingraham of Binghamton, NY.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
