Charles I. Faux, 87, of 12286 Lakeside Drive, Conneaut Lake, died Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Claysville, Washington Co., PA, February 22, 1921, a son of the late James R. and Margaret Hill Faux. He married Harriett S. Scott October 10, 1945, and she preceded him in death December 31, 1992.
He was a veteran of World War II with the U. S. Army, having served in the European Theater of operations.
He was employed with the Dean Phipps Auto Stores for 33 years, then worked for Wolff’s Sales and Service for 20 years, and then for the Smith Gray Auto Dealership, all of Meadville.
Charles was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, former Elder, and former Clerk of Session. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #408 of Meadville, and the Scottish Rite Bodies of New Castle.
Survivors include one son, C. Paul Faux and his wife Pinkie of Silverthorne, CO, 3 grandchildren, Shelley Curvy, Ryan Faux and Lindsey Faux, and 3 great grandchildren, Tyler and Sam Curvy, and Jessica Faux, one sister, Jane Churchill of Shreveport, LA, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Boyd Faux and infant brother, Robert Faux.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A Masonic Service by Masonic Lodge #408 will be held Tuesday at the Funeral Home at 7:00p.m.
The funeral and committal service will be Wednesday in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty St., Meadville with the Rev. Brian K. Jensen, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Claysville Cemetery, Claysville.
