Charles Leroy Luce

January 15, 1878 — August 22, 1964

Charles LeRoy Luce, 86, of Meadville, died Saturday, August 22, 1964, at City Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Hayfield Township, January 15, 1878, a son of Henry O. and Mary E. Hoffman Luce.  He married E. Belle Little April 19, 1904.  He was the last of eight children.

Mr. Luce was employed by Saegertown Ginger-Ale Co. for 28 years.  Later, he was employed by McCrosky Tool Corp., and still later by Palmer Bros. Tool Co., retiring at the age of 75.

He was a former member of Saegertown Methodist Church and attended Grace Methodist Church in Meadville.  His Masonic affiliations included Lodge 408, Royal Arch Chapter 191, Northwest Commandery Knights Templar and Coudersport Consistory.  He also was a director of Saegertown Cemetery Assn.

Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Marion Findley of Meadville; four grandchildren, Charles H. Findley of Murfreesboro, TN, Mrs. Donald (June) Roha of Silver Springs, MD, Donald Findley of Los Alamos, NM and Mrs. Richard (Sue) Halsaver of Meadville and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Saegertown Cemetery.
