Charles Leroy Saunders

Charles Leroy Saunders, 86, retired alderman of the Second Ward, Meadville, died at Smith Institute, Saegertown, Monday, September 25, 1967, following a long illness.

He was born in Union City, MI, on November 25, 1880, a son of Almon and Mary Ellen Smith Saunders.  His wife, the former Nancy Irene Luse, died in 1961.

He was a member of Stone Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James H. (Eleanor) Nichols of Bay Village, OH; a grandson, Scott Nichols of Meadville; and a granddaughter, Barbara Nichols of Washington, DC.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
