Charles M. Phillips

June 20, 1868 — November 6, 1949

Mrs. Edith Ash Phillips, 81, widow of Charles M. Phillips, a charter member of the Meadville Womans Club, died Sunday afternoon.

She was born in Pleasantville area, Mrs. Phillips came to Meadville as a young girl.  She was a member of Stone Methodist Church, the Rebekahs and of the Civil War veterans' aux.

Mr. Philips, who had been employed at one time by John J. Shryrock Co. and once played in the NW Band, died in June of 1945.

Surviving are two sons, Roy L. Phillips and William W. Phillips of Meadville; a daughter, Mrs. S. H. French of Meadville; a brother, Arthur Ash of Meadville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
