Charles K. (Chuck) Mortimer

December 16, 1924 — August 9, 2008

Charles K. (Chuck) Mortimer, formerly of Conneaut Lake and a resident of Juniper Village, Meadville since 2006, died there Saturday, August 9, 2008.

He was born in Greenville December 16, 1924, a son of the late Ross and Olive Klinger Mortimer.  He married Carol Dickinson September 29, 1967.

A 1942 graduate of Greenville High School, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.  Chuck worked in construction his entire life as a carpenter and superintendent.  He was employed by Associated Contractors, Inc. of Conneaut Lake for 20 years and subsequently worked for Steiger Construction Company, Mercer.  A life member of the Linesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7842, he enjoyed golfing, traveling, and making crafts.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Carol of Meadville, include 2 daughters, Gail Lynn Fuller of York and Margie Minutello and her husband Pat of Clarksville, GA; a step-daughter, Melanie Reif and her husband Bryan of New Hyde Park, NY; 5 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 3 nephews and their families.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Scott Mortimer and a sister, Evelyn Ruth Snyder.

There are no calling hours.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake.
