Charles Olson, Jr., 86, of Meadville, died Saturday, October 4, 1986, at Meadville Medical Center following a one-year illness.
Mr. Olson was born in Boothwyn, June 15, 1900, a son of Charles and Helen Heritage Olson, Sr. He married Helen G. Cole, September 30, 1922. She preceded him in death October 27, 1969. He subsequently married Norah Bleasdale November 15, 1972. She preceded him in death January 30, 1985.
He retired in 1959 from the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was a member of St. Agatha's Roman Catholic Church; and Meadville chapter of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima. He was a World War I veteran, having served in the US Navy.
Survivors include one daughter, Miss Joan Olson of Meadville; two step-daughters, Mrs. Gaylord (Betty) McCracken of Kinsman, OH and Mrs. Jay (Geraldine) Dick of Jacksonville, FL; two step-sons, Paul Bleasdale of Meadville and James Bleasdale of Waynesburg, VA; one sister, Mrs. Austin (Doris) Vanneman of Tarpon Springs, FL; two brothers, Earl Olson of Lititz and Samuel Olson of Paulsboro, NJ; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Edwin Olson; one sister and two brothers.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in St. Brigid's Cemetery.
