Charles Pettit, Jr., 87, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
He was born May 8, 1936, in Saegertown, a son of Charles and Dorothy (Flick) Edge Pettit. He married Madleen “Micky” (Corbine) Eherts and she preceded him in death July 29, 2005.
Charles was of Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1959-1961 stationed in Germany. He was employed as a contractor for Automatic Electric at locations around the U.S. and subsequently worked for 27 years as a network technician for Alltel Telephone Company.
Charles was a long-time member of Charles Stafford American Legion Post 111 and several other organizations. He enjoyed watching high school and college basketball, was a motor head owning several muscle cars, and was known as a regular at Aunt Bee’s Restaurant.
Survivors include many loving nieces and nephews and two very special friends, Bruce and Susan Reagle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, Albert and Raymond Edge and Robert Pettit; and four stepchildren, Roy, Eddie, and Danny Eherts and Donna Solomon.
A celebration of Charles’s life will be held in the Chapel of Roselawn Memorials Gardens, Meadville on Wednesday, April 17 at 11:00 a.m.
