Charles Richard (Pete) Shoop, 72, of Meadville, died Tuesday, February 2, 1999, at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Blooming Valley, August 12, 1926, a son of Ralph and Lettie Gerdon Shoop. He married Elsie Dahl, June 30, 1960. She survives. A 1944 graduate of Randolph-East Mead High School in Guys Mills, he was a crane operator for Seco-Warwick and its predecessor companies for 46 years. He retired in 1992. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, having served with the Seventh Division in the Pacific Theater and Korea. A member of the Moose Lodge and Veterans for Foreign Wars, he served as treasurer of Local 1585 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 32 years. He enjoyed working on his farm, hunting and his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors, in addition to his wife for 38 years, include two daughters, Jean Shoop of Saegertown and Mrs. Jerry (Kathleen) Conaway of Edinboro; three grandchildren, Courtney, Kelsey and Joshua Shoop; three sisters, Ruth Brady, Ralphene Gibson and Beryl Myers, all of Erie; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Shoop. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery. Services Past Services
