Charles S. “Bucky” Walker, 76, of 891 F. Street, Meadville died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie.
He was born in Meadville, June 28, 1931 a son of Charles S. and Anna Durney Walker, Sr. He married Nancy McCallum April 23, 1963 and she survives.
He worked construction and was a member of Construction and General Laborers Local 964 in New Castle. Previously, he had worked for Erie-Lackawanna Railroad.
He attended Meadville public schools, served in the US Army and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Meadville Club. He was an avid NASCAR fan and dearly loved his children, grandchildren, his dogs Otis, Megan and Cloey and his cats Milo and Smokey.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Nancy of 44 years, include: three daughters, Norma Walker of Meadville, Elizabeth Henry of Meadville and Paula Sutliff and her husband Mark of Saegertown; two sons, Chuck Walker and his wife Zebra of Meadville and Edward Walker and his wife Sharon of Prosperity, SC; eight grandchildren, including Joshua Walker Smith and Jessica Henry Sutter whom he raised; four great grandchildren, including Alexis Sutter and Austin Sutter whom he helped raise and one sister, Mary May and her husband Jon of Columbia, SC.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, with the funeral and committal service following at 7 p.m.
