Charles S. Lodge, 92, of Meadville, died Saturday, January 13, 1990, at his residence following a period of failing health.
He was born in Erie, August 3, 1897, a son of William and Mary Struchen Lodge. He married Fern Shrader June 15, 1927. She survives.
He owned and operated a farm in Cambridge Springs for 53 years. He was a member of the Blooming Valley United Methodist Church, and was a former member and 17-year elder of the Edinboro Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of the Edinboro Grange since 1922 and was a member of the Pennsylvania State Grange. He served as a director of the Meadville Production Credit Assn. for 11 years, and sang in the Edinboro choir and quartet for 12 years.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Mrs. Rex (Lorene) Caldwell of Adamsville and Mrs. Louis (Linda) Marquis of Prosser, WA; a sister, Eleanor Lodge of Erie; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Thora Beers and Marian Jackson; two brothers, Herbert and Harry Lodge and two sons, James Robert and Charles Eugene Lodge.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Venango Cemetery.
