Charles Seward Underwood, 64, formerly of Meadville resident, died Saturday at his home in Rockville, CT.
Son of the late Thomas and Ida Moltrup Underwood, he spent his early life in Ohio and lived for many years in the Pittsburgh area before coming to Meadville in 1934. During his 12 years in Meadville, he was employed as a tool maker at Talon, Inc.
From Meadville, he moved to Connecticut where he was employed by the firm of Pratt and Whitney at East Hartford. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Meadville, Meadville Lodge 408, F & AM, Solomon Royal Arch Chapter 191 and former member of Northwestern Commandery 25.
Surviving are his widow, Amelia Ochsenhirt Underwood; a son, Charles Craig Underwood; a grandson, Ronald Craig Underwood of Meadville and a sister, Mrs. Park Johnson of Stoyerstown.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
