Charles W. Ernst

Charles W. Ernst, 87, of Meadville, died at Mead Nursing Home Monday, May 31, 1976, after a long illness.  He had been at the nursing home for six weeks.

Born in Union Township on July 18, 1888, he was a son of John and Anna Laver Ernst.  He first married Winifred Thatcher who died in 1926.  He married Charlotte Klippel in 1927 and she died in 1972.  Mr. Ernst was a building contractor in the Meadville area and was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, Crawford Masonic Lodge 234, Solomon Royal Arch Chapter 191, Northwest Commandery 25, Zem Zem Shrine Temple of Erie and Crawford County Shrine Club.

Survivors include two sons, Charles F. of Franklin and Daniel C. of Meadville; a brother, Theodore G. of Meadville; and a granddaughter, Linda Ernst of Franklin.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
