Charlotte L. Scott

Charlotte L. Scott, 78, of Conneaut Lake and Meadville, died Friday, June 20, 2000, at Memorial Hospital, Houston, TX.

She was born in Meadville, April 14, 1922, a daughter of Douglas and Ruth Ash Barr.  She married George W. Scott, Jr., November 18, 1940.  He preceded her in death July 19, 1986.

She was a 1939 graduate of Meadville High School.  In her early years, she worked as office manager at the former Knapp Insurance Agency of Meadville.  She subsequently worked for several years in the purchasing department at the former American Viscose Corp.

She was a member of High Street Community Church of Conneaut Lake for several years and previously was a lifelong Methodist.  She was very active in her churches where she taught Sunday School, Bible school and held various church offices.

She enjoyed bird watching and flowers.

Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Monnie (Gary) of Conneaut Lake and Nancy Ruthann Howles (Arlin) of Sugarland; a son, Robert George Scott (Sheryl) of Newport News, VA; four grandsons, Shawn Monnie, Chad Monnie, Tristan Scott and Aaron Christian Howles; two great-grandchildren; an aunt and uncle and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Hester E. Terrill.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Ewing Cemetery, East Mead Township.
