Charlotte M. Kapanick

June 13, 1910 — September 23, 1996

Charlotte M. Kapanick, 86, of Meadville, died Monday, September 23, 1996 at her son John Kapanick's residence following a period of declining health.

She was born June 13, 1910 in the Pleasantville area, a daughter of the late Frank and Grace Crawford Carlberg.  She married John J. Kapanick, August 21, 1942.  He preceded her in death March 31, 1989.

She was a gradaute of Pleasantville High School and Slippery Rock University.  She taught elementary school in Pleasantville and later in the Conneautville area.  She worked on the family farm and in the family construction business.  She was also a homemaker.  She was a charter member of Delta Kappa Gamma teachers sorority at Slippery Rock University and had also been active in the school's alumni association.

She was a member of Littles Corners United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women.  She taught Sunday School and was a youth group leader.

Survivors include one son, John L. Kapanick of Conneautville; three sisters, Helen Monroe and Jeanette Scott, both of Virginia and Florence Flannery of New Castle; one brother, Robert Carlberg of Fredonia; one cousin who she helped raise, Betty Reichel of Geneva, OH; and five granddaughters.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Carlberg.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
