Charlotte Rosen

Charlotte Kleckner Rosen, 90, was a resident of the Meadville area for most of her life. She was a known artist and photographer around the area, who also enjoyed her gardening and family. She died in the early morning of Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Wesbury United Methodist Community. She was born in Erie, PA November 18, 1925 a daughter of Sidney W. and A. Virginia Shelhamer Kleckner. She was married to Arnold Rosen for 34 years and he preceded her in death in July 2011. Directly after high school, she became secretary at Erie Bolt and Nut, then Carnation, followed by American Viscose Corp., and then as executive secretary at Talon in Meadville. After leaving Talon she was executive secretary at Community Health Services, from where she eventually retired. She was an active member of the community, volunteering with Active Aging as well as being a member of First Christian Church. She is survived by two sons, James Rosen and his wife Barbara of Pittsburgh and Daniel Rosen of Venango; seven grandchildren, Katy, Meggie, Zachary, Michael, James, Abbie and Garrett Rosen; a brother, Donald Kleckner and his wife Helen of Findley Lake, NY; a sister, Nancy Kleckner Walp Ewing of Venango; and a sister-in-law, Faye Jordan Kleckner of Warren, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Kleckner. Calling hours will be Saturday from 12-2 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Roger Smith, Associate Minister, of First Christian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Venango Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Wesbury United Methodist Community (for the Memory Support Unit), 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335.
