Charlotte Y. Phillips, 92, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Wesbury United Methodist Community surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 20, 1929 in Meadville, a daughter of Harold and Mary Jones Popeney. She married Paul Thomas Phillips March 5, 1949.
Charlotte was a 1947 graduate of Meadville High School. She was a secretary for Talon, Inc., a secretary/bookkeeper for the Slide Fastener Union, a repair assignment clerk and then secretary in the plant department of Alltel from where she retired in 1993.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband P. Thomas Phillips on January 10, 2018, her brother, Richard Popeney and his wife Barbara of Fairview, OH a brother-in-law, James Phillips and his wife Carmen of Riverside, CA, and a sister-in-law, Helen McIntosh of Winter Haven, FL.
Charlotte is survived by three sons, Larry Phillips (Elaine), Steven Phillips (Debra), and Brett Phillips (Marjorie), all of Meadville; six grandchildren, Shane Phillips (Theresa), Richard Phillips (Paula), Stacy Phillips and her husband Dave Christensen, Julie McGinnity (Michael), Dalton Phillips (Samantha), and Hannah Phillips; seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
As per Charlotte’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service as she preferred cremation and a private family memorial service at a later date.
