Christina Collins

Christina Collins, 87, a resident of Hillside Home since March 1980, died Saturday, July 26, 1986, at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Batavia, NY, September 16, 1898, a daughter of Lewis D. and Clara Steele Collins.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.  She was a graduate of National Park Seminary.  She received her bachelor's degree of Christian education from Auburn, NY, Theological Seminary.  She was employed at East Aurora, NY, Presbyterian Church for eight years.  She subsequently was employed by First Presbyterian Church in various professional staff positions from August 1935 until she retired in 1972 after 37 years of service.  She was active in the Girl Scouts and had served as a Girl Scout leader for Troop 2, Meadville for 20 years.

Survivors include one brother, Lewis Collins of Batavia; one niece; two nephews; eleven grandnieces and grandnephews; and seven great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.  She was preceded in death by one sister.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Grandview Cemetery.
