Christopher S. Ervin

Christopher S. (Chris) Ervin, 47, of Guys Mills passed away unexpectedly at home, Sunday, February 19, 2017. Chris was born in Meadville October 4, 1969 a son of James F. Ervin and the late Jeanne L. Melville Ervin. He graduated from Maplewood High School in 1988 and lived in Guys Mills his entire life. He was an apprentice trained tool and die maker and excelled at his profession working in only 3 tool shops his entire career. He spent the past 14 years at Canto Tool & Die in Meadville. He enjoyed hunting, being in the woods, travel, skiing, football and NASCAR. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is survived by his father, James F. Ervin of Guys Mills; his brother, Patrick J. Ervin and his wife Cheryl (Oakes) Ervin and their son, Craig P. Ervin of Guys Mills; and his sister, Leslie Ulan and her husband Alan Ulan and their daughter, Madison of Springboro. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne L. Ervin; his paternal grandparents, Fred and Hazel Ervin late of Guys Mills and his maternal grandparents, Glen and Edna Melville late of Townville. Calling hours will be Saturday from 2-6 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rich Jones, Pastor of Conneautville Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Lyona Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
