Clair G. Christy

Clair G. Christy, 91, of Conneaut Lake, died Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Marquette Hospice House.

He was born February 1, 1924 in West Sunbury, PA a son of Ralph C. and Inis M. Kelly Christy.  He married Elizabeth Jacobs April 23, 1982 and she preceded him in death February 24, 2010.

He worked for 42 years for Seco-Warwick Co. and its predecessors retiring in 1988 as a Production Supervisor.  He was a life member of Harm Jan Huidekoper VFW Post #2006 and the National Rifle Association.  He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army.  He landed on the beaches of Normandy and advanced across France and Germany, reaching Berlin.  He was very proud of his military service and his contribution in the ending of World War II.  He attended Cornerstone Church of God and was an avid hunter.

He is survived by twin daughters, Bonnie Dunn of Meadville and Brenda Christy of Williamson, NY; a son, Paul Christy and his wife Diane of Conneaut Lake; two sisters, Alberta Mahood and her husband Harold of Boyers, PA and Donna Lee of Grove City; two grandchildren, Timothy Christy and his wife Lisa of Portland, OR and Chelsea Mailliard of Erie; a great grandson, Cooper Christy; two nephews, Clarence and Howard and a niece, Kathy.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Christy.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 12-2 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake.  The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Jamey Huselton, Pastor of Cornerstone Church of God, officiating.

Interment with military honors provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006 will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Marquette Hospice House, c/o Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335 or Cornerstone Church of God, 18320 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
