Clare A. Dent

Clare A. Dent, 76, of Meadville died peacefully at home on February 06, 2016 after an extended battle against cancer. Clare was born January 23, 1940 in Te Aroha, New Zealand the daughter of Frank and Grace (Woods) Dunne. She married Michael Dent in 1963 and he survives. Over the years Clare worked as a secretary, as a home maker and mother to four wonderful children, and partnered with Michael in creating a successful family business in Europe and the USA. She was a true modern pioneer facing challenges, accepting opportunities, set-backs and success with grace and style. In her eleven years in Meadville, she lived the American Dream in business and private life. She was a supporter of the Baldwin Reynolds House Museum and an active member of the Antiquarians and the Antiques Club. Survivors, in addition to her husband Michael of 52 years, include: four children, Nicola Fisher and her husband Peter of Conneaut Lake, Susan Wilson and her husband Kevin of England, Gretchen Dent and Matthew Dent of England and one granddaughter, Grace Fisher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Robert, her elder brother. A private family service will be held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with the Rev. Rebecca Lash, Vicar of Christ Episcopal Church, officiating.
