Clarence Robert (Bob) Briggs, 75, of Meadville, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born in Meadville on December 14, 1943, a son of the late Clarence and Mary (Mattis) Briggs.
Bob was a 1963 graduate of Meadville High School and served in the United States Army National Guard. He worked many years at Penn Towel and Wesbury. He was the owner of Tools and Things in Meadville. He was a master auctioneer and enjoyed drag racing, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Diane (Shreffler) Briggs, whom he married on July 30, 1966 after a chance meeting at the Crawford County Fair. In addition to his wife, he is survived by their daughter, Kimberly Wertz and her husband Jim of Erie; two granddaughters, Eleanor and Madeleine; his sister, Audrey Fredericks and her husband John of Meadville; and two nieces and nephews.
A private family viewing and funeral service will be Friday, June 21st at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE with the Rev. Sam Marchetta officiating.
Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
