Clarence E. Piercy

Clarence E. Piercy, 55, of 9427 Twin Hickory Drive, Guys Mills, PA, died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Meadville Medical Center.  He was also affectionately known by the nicknames Peanut and Deacon.

He was born in Meadville, February 29, 1952 a son of Coy W. and Mary Eckley Piercy.

He attended Linesville Public Schools and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the US Navy.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially enjoyed his dog, Duke.

Survivors, include his companion of 22 years, Eve Meehan; two daughters, Cassandra Martin of Meadville and Sherri Piercy of Meadville; a son, William Coy Piercy currently serving overseas in the US Navy; two sisters, Elizabeth Tingler and her husband O.J. of Oberlin, OH and Pauline Prince of Harmonsburg; two brothers, Gerald L. “Jake” Piercy and his wife Cindy of Meadville and Jason Piercy and his wife Juli of Linesville; two step-daughters, Bambi Joslin of Meadville and Gail Meehan of Guys Mills; a step-son, Jason Foust of Harmonsburg; four grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. with military honors provided by Huidekoper VFW Post 2006.

Burial will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA

The family suggests memorials be made to Veterans of the Vietnam War Inc., P.O. Box 771, Meadville, PA 16335.
