Clarence J. Gordon

Clarence J. Gordon, 79, of 11565 State Hwy 198, Guys Mills, PA died at home Saturday, October 20, 2007.

He was born in Ripley, NY, August 13, 1928 a son of Clarence Eugene and Anna Mae Jones Gordon.  He married Betty Louise Smith May 25, 1948 and she preceded him in death April 21, 1995.  He subsequently married Carol Francisco February 22, 1997 and she survives.

He was a bricklayer in the construction industry and was a lifetime member of the Bricklayer and Allied Craft Workers Union.  He also donated his time and consulted on other construction and remodeling projects for churches and other non-profit organizations including Miracle Mountain Ranch.

He was a 1946 graduate of Randolph High School and was a member of the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Carol, include: four children, Gary L. Gordon and his wife Diane of Guys Mills, Sharon Bernier and her husband Ernie of Guys Mills, Gwyn Horner and her husband Jeff of Findley Lake, NY and Douglass Gordon and his wife Rose Ann of Meadville; four step-children, Randy Francisco of Pittsburgh, Charles Francisco and his wife Becky of Townville, Dale Francisco and his wife Jan of Meadville and Vicky Buzzard of Erie; a brother, Philo Gordon and his wife Gladys of Conneaut Lake; twenty grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Clifford and Paul and two sisters, Violet and Florence.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville at Tuesday from 10-11 at the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills with Ralph McGill, officiating.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
