Clarence W. Turner, 80, of Meadville, died Thursday, May 21, 1998 at home following an extended illness.
He was born in Sunol, PA, May 21, 1918, a son of the late Elmer and Arvilla Hovis Turner. He married Mary E. Miller August 16, 1942. She survives.
Mr. Turner was employed in the maintenance department of the Crawford Central School District for 10 years. Previously he worked for 35 years for the American Viscose Co.
He was a member of First Christian Church since 1946, Saegertown American Legion and Vernon Central Fire Department. He was also a veteran of World War II with the US Army in Africa.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Mrs. James (Sonja) Mosbacher of Saegertown and Mrs. Gary (Pam) Shouey of Meadville; four grandchildren, Michelle Peters, Duane Mosbacher, Heidi Albaugh and Ashley Shouey and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary W. Turner; two sisters, Thelma Mook and Edith Smeltzer and two brothers, William Turner and Raymond Turner.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
