Claude L. Mays

Claude L. Mays, 72, of Meadville, died yesterday afternoon at Spencer Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born at Rockland, Venango County, and moved to the Guys Mills area when he was 18.  There he became engaged in the retail meat business.

Since 1926, he lived in Meadville where he was employed by the City Department of Parks and Public Property and also as a construction worker.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Emma Reese and Eldred Mays of Meadville, Mrs. Robert E. Brown and Audley C. Mays of South Meadville; a brother, Erman Mays of West Virginia and five grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
