Cleola Marie Clark, 86, of Rolling Fields, Conneautville, died there Tuesday, June 17, 2008.
She was born in Meadville September 23, 1921, a daughter of the late Hugh and Mina Moffit Kightlinger, Sr. She married Raymond C. Clark March 6, 1940 in Winchester, VA and enjoyed 66 years of marriage until his death September 19, 2006.
Cleola was a life long member of Watson Run Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Meadville High School and had been employed at Talon, and Wirt’s Drug Store. In her retirement, she and her husband spent time between their homes in Meadville and Port Orange, FL. She loved to sing and in her younger days she sang with the Uptown Orchestra. A favorite pastime was gardening and planting flowers and she used to say “digging in the soil is good therapy.” Cleola was an avid teddy bear collector and for 40 years had collected and received over 400 teddy bears. She loved all God’s creatures great and small. She had a great love for her dogs and all animals. She loved the ocean, spending endless days walking on the beach with her dog Rebel. She was a kind and loving person. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Rappa and her husband James of Conneaut Lake; a son, Gary L. Clark of Florida; a son-in-law, Jack A. Nageotte of Meadville; a granddaughter, Kristie Shimko and her husband Eric of Meadville; 3 grandsons, Jeff Clark and his wife Debbie of Lignum, VA, Jack M. Nageotte of Meadville, and Tim Nageotte and his wife Nicci of Hales Corners, WI; 5 great-grandchildren, Alyssa Camasi, Case Gryta, Zachery Nageotte, Alyssa Clark, and Ryan Shimko; a great-great-granddaughter, Giada Ann; a brother, Jack Kightlinger and his wife Adele of Hendersonville, NC; and several nieces and a nephew. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Nageotte; a granddaughter, Shannon; and 2 brothers, James Kightlinger and Hugh (Junior) Kightlinger.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dan McEldowney of Watson Run Presbyterian Church officiating.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
