Clifford E. (Bud) Turner, 63, of Meadville, died suddenly Thursday, January 4, 1996 at Meadville Medical Center. He was born in Meadville, December 11, 1932, a son of the late Elroy and Genevieve Fitch Turner. He first married Carrol Kimple and subsequently married Shirley Phillips Scowden, July 6, 1973. She survives. He worked for Erie Railroad, Erie Lackawanna Railroad and finally Conrail retiring as an engineer after 37 years in the industry. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ He was also a member of Crawford Masonic Lodge #234, Scottish Rite Bodies of New Castle and the National Model Railroad Assn. He was an avid model railroader, building and repairing model trains. He was a graduate of Linesville High School. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Debbie) Lee of Meadville; twin sons, David R. Turner of Stewartstown, PA and Douglas E. Turner of Greenville, PA; a step-daughter, Mrs. Robert (Kimberly) Carter of Dayton, OH; a step-son, Mark P. Scowden of Eugene, OR; a sister, Mrs. Howard (Ruthann) Schlang of Randolph, MA; a step-father, Lionel S. Giddings of Shermansville, PA; a step-mother, Louise Turner of Plymouth, MA; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
