Clifford (Tom) L. Williams, 79, of Meadville, died Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Crawford County Care Center following a period of declining health.
He was born April 30, 1936 in Conneaut Lake, a son of Jerry and Cecil Williams Williams.
Tom attended Conneaut Lake High School and was U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1955 to 1958 in the 101st Airborne Division. In his younger years, he worked at Moss Brothers Lumber Company, Conneaut Lake and subsequently worked as a tool maker at Crescent Tool in Jamestown, NY.
Tom always enjoyed being helpful to his neighbors and making sure the neighborhood looked good. He enjoyed making people laugh, always prayed for his family, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include five children, Paul Scott and his wife Kelly of Meadville, Eileen Gable, Thomas Williams of Meadville, John Williams of Pittsburgh, and Teresa Williams; five step-children, Robert Paul Scott of Oil City, Sherry Wheaton and her husband Ben of Meadville, Melody Bush of Meadville, Rick Scott and his wife Billie Jo of Conneautville, and Carrie Lynn Nageotte of Meadville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother Danny Williams of Saegertown and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Edward Scott; a step-daughter, Tina Marie Scott; his long-time companion, Jeannine Scott; two brothers, Earl Williams and Robert O’Neal; two sisters, Agnes Armstrong and Helen Daggart; a niece Shirley O’Neal; and an uncle, Chester Williams.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Miller, Pastor of Allida Smith Wesleyan Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery with military honors provided by Veterans of the Vietnam War Post 52, Meadville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335.
