Clyde M. Miller

Clyde M. Miller, 94, of Meadville, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

He was born in Erie, December 1, 1918 a son of Clyde M. and Olga Jane Weed Miller.  He married Mary Ellen Steere June 16, 1938 and she preceded him in death April 25, 2005.

He was a 1936 graduate of Meadville High School and he attended Allegheny College.  He was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Army in the South Pacific.  He worked at Steere Dairy for 17 years and then became a Prudential Insurance agent working for 22 years until his retirement in 1980.

He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and served as an usher and on many committees over the years.  He was also a life member of Elks Lodge #219 and was a volunteer Red Coat at Meadville Medical Center.  He enjoyed working on projects with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.  He also enjoyed spending his winters in Sebring, FL.

He is survived by two sons, Theodore Miller and his wife Margy of Batavia, NY and Terrence Miller and his wife Linda of Conneaut Lake; seven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Miller; two sisters, Mary Jane Quoressimo and Peggy Kearney and a grandson, David Miller.

Private family services will be held by the family.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
